1. Who We Are

TorCAST is operated by Brandon (an independent developer). The platform is accessible at torcast.pro and through the TorCAST Android application on the Google Play Store.

2. Information We Collect

Location Device GPS / location data

When you tap the "My Location" button on the TorCAST map, the app requests your precise or approximate location. This is used only to center the map on your current position. Location data is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers or transmitted to any third party.

Account Email address and password hash

If you create a TorCAST account, we store your email address and a cryptographic hash of your password (never the password itself). This is used solely for authentication — to let you log in and access your saved settings.

Usage Anonymous request logs

Our server logs standard web request data (IP address, browser/app user-agent, URL requested, timestamp) for security monitoring and debugging purposes. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are not used for advertising or profiling.

Payment Billing information (if applicable)

If TorCAST offers paid features, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe may retain billing records per their own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To display the TorCAST map centered on your location (location data)
• To authenticate you when you log in (email/password hash)
• To maintain service security and diagnose technical problems (server logs)
• To process subscription payments (Stripe)

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral tracking, or sale to third parties — ever.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Stripe — receives payment information if you subscribe to a paid plan. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Weather data sources — TorCAST fetches publicly available forecast model data from NOAA/NWS (HRRR, GFS). No personal data is sent to these sources.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.

We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics companies, or social networks.

5. Data Retention

• Location data: never stored — used in real time and discarded.
• Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
• Server logs: auto-purged after 30 days.
• Payment records: retained by Stripe per their policy.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent to location access at any time (via your device settings)

To exercise any of these rights, email support@torcast.pro and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

TorCAST is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes (never in plain text). Our servers are access-controlled and monitored. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we follow industry best practices.

9. Third-Party Services

TorCAST uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Google Play — app distribution
• NOAA / National Weather Service — public forecast data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of TorCAST after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users.
